I well remember my first impression of Dublin some 15 years ago while walking all the way by the Guinness Factory along the River Liffey towards the city centre: quiet and relaxed.
Here and there a lonely pedestrian passing by, a few cars in the rush (yes, they were moving back then) and the seagulls, so many seagulls. They flew back and forth, sometimes with the impression they’ll touch your shoulder - so unafraid and used to people they were.
